According to police, 53-year-old Roderick Whitehead was removed from the meeting at City Hall, located at 15 South First Avenue, after making obscene outbursts that disrupted proceedings and caused offense to members of the public.

As reported earlier by UC Today, the disruption occurred as council was conducting business that included promoting a police officer. Patrolman Daniel Leek was promoted to corporal, drawing applause from the audience. At that point, Whitehead reportedly shouted expletives and booed loudly prompting attendees and officials to call for his removal. As police escorted him from the chamber he declared “Death to oath breakers.”

Whitehead will answer to the charges at a later date before Magisterial District Judge Denise Buell.
