The Pennsylvania State Police in Meadville are reminding drivers about the dangers of operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Troopers say impaired driving remains a serious problem that causes unnecessary deaths every year. They urge anyone consuming alcohol to designate a sober driver and caution that both legal and illegal drugs — including prescription medications — can affect safe vehicle operation.
To help deter impaired driving, state police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Crawford County sometime between August 29th and September 1st, 2025. The enforcement effort is aimed at reducing DUI-related crashes and fatalities. Authorities are asking motorists to make safe choices over the holiday weekend: don’t drink and drive.
