Since 1993, the first Saturday of every June is known as National Trails Day, inspiring the public and trail enthusiasts nationwide to celebrate, discover, and learn about America’s trail system. This year’s celebration on the Corry Junction Greenway Trail marks the third such event hosted in the Corry community.

The Corry Junction Greenway Trail is a 6-mile limestone and natural surface trail that reuses an old rail corridor and connects Corry to the larger, regional Erie to Pittsburgh Trail network.

Corry has a long-term goal of becoming known as a trail town and a bikeable, walkable community as part of its strategy for retaining and attracting residents and re-energizing its economy. The Corry Junction Greenway Trail also serves as a vital trail artery with which Corry is encouraging development of a greater network of smaller trails, or spurs, improving residents’ access to quality outdoor recreation opportunities.

The free event is open to all.
