A fire tore through a barn in Waterford Township Wednesday night. Fire crews arrived around 6:30 p.m. to find intense flames and thick black smoke pouring from the front and back of the structure on Old State Road.
The fast-moving fire spread to a connected home and a nearby field. Fortunately, all four residents inside made it out safely, but the family’s dog did not survive. Firefighters worked through the night to contain the blaze. Authorities are still investigating the cause.
