The undefeated Union City Bears Jr High Football team traveled to Cambridge Springs on Thursday afternoon to take on the undefeated Blue Devils. Ethan Mitcham would score the first touchdown of the game on a 41-yard scamper while the defense would force a three and out. Quarterback, Colt Blakeslee, would then hit Mitcham on a 45-yard pass for a touchdown to put the Bears up two scores. Mitcham would later score his third touchdown of the game on an eight yard run as the Bears would defeat the Devils 18-0. “The defense was fantastic all game, allowing only 5 first downs and forcing two turnovers.” Coach Shawn Thompson told us in a statement. “Liam Dean, Adam Bartholomew, Garrett Miller, and Hunter Price were constantly in the backfield causing problems. Jayden Betcher secured an interception, and we had many tackles for a loss.” He continued.
