A Warren man was killed in an officer-involved shooting Tuesday night. The man was identified as 31 year-old Brandon Zurkan. Ontario County, New York Sheriff reports deputies were chasing Zurkan in the town of Canandaigua. The chase ended when Zurkan got out of the vehicle with a gun and eventually pointed it at officers. That is when officers shot the man. Zurkan was taken to F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, where he was pronounced dead.
The officers involved were placed on administrative leave.
An investigation continues with assistance from the NY Attorney General’s Office.
