A new family medical practice in Union City held an open house Monday at 15 N. Main St. Hope Direct Healthcare is owned and operated by Dorcas Lacayo, MD, MPH. Dr. Lacayo says her practice is not a traditional one but membership based.
“You can be my patient by becoming a member and pay a very affordable monthly rate as low as $35.00 for kids up to age 18 and $59.00 for young adults. This will give you access to unlimited visits, procedures, discounted labs and meds. I have worked in urgent care and ER and that has given me the skills to manage most of the conditions you would go to an urgent care for, thus, saving you money,” Lacayo said.
Dr. Lacayo received her Medical Degree from National Autonomous University of Honduras. She completed Family Medicine residency at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY and a Masters degree in Public Health from SUNY Downstate School of Public Health. She lives in Clymer, NY with her family and husband, a Union City native.
According to Dr. Lacayo membership is open to all patients whether they currently have insurance or not. Members will also have direct access to her through a secure messaging system, eliminating the “phone tag playing” that she says is very common in traditional practices. She will also be offering virtual visits and house calls. Members can cancel at any time.
Non-members can see the doctor for a flat fee of $150.
