ROCKDALE TOWNSHIP — A new bridge carrying Route 408 over Mohawk Run in Rockdale Township opened Monday, four days ahead of schedule.

The $990,974.67 project replaced the former bridge with a box culvert. Work began in late August and also included paving on both sides of the crossing, updating guide rails and repainting pavement lines.

The bridge is located about 750 feet east of the intersection of Route 408 and Greytown Hills Road, also known as Route 1031.

The project was completed by C.H. & D. Enterprises of New Stanton. The contract is funded entirely with federal money.
