COVENTRY, Conn. — A 25-year-old man identified as being from Clymer, New York, has been charged with first-degree possession of child sexual abuse material following an investigation by the Coventry Police Department in Connecticut.
According to a Coventry police report, Michael Edward Wyatt Dobush was arrested October 15 on an arrest warrant stemming from an investigation into suspected child sexual abuse material uploaded to a Google Drive account.
Police said the investigation began after the department received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Investigators traced access to the files to an internet protocol address assigned to a Coventry residence. Police allege the same user uploaded 244 suspected files of child sexual abuse material and 97 additional unconfirmed files.
According to police, search warrants and other investigative information led to the discovery of 108 additional suspected images and one video file.
Dobush was held at the Chautauqua County Jail in New York on an extraditable warrant before being transported to Connecticut. He posted a $75,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court in Rockville, Connecticut, on October 27, according to reports from the area.
A request by UC Today for additional information from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office had not been received a response as of press time.
The charges are allegations, and Dobush is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
