ERIE — The Erie Otters earned their first home win of the season Sunday, defeating the Barrie Colts 3-2 to close out a three-game weekend with a victory.

Erie took control early as Michael Dec opened the scoring on a breakaway, followed by Luka Arkko’s goal off a setup from Broden McArthur. The Otters carried a 2-0 lead into the first intermission and held a 17-7 advantage in shots on goal. Barrie cut the deficit to 2-1 in the second period when Evan Passmore scored, but Erie maintained its lead through 40 minutes.

The Colts tied the game early in the third on William Schneid’s goal. Arkko responded with his second goal of the game, finishing a quick pass from Evan Headrick to put Erie back in front, 3-2. Barrie pulled its goaltender for an extra attacker in the final two minutes, but the Otters held on to secure the win. Erie finished with 50 shots on goal to Barrie’s 21.

The Otters return to home ice Friday when they host the Soo Greyhounds for their only home meeting of the season as part of 3-2-1 Friday. Tickets and additional information are available at OttersHockey.com.
