The Union City Bears volleyball team dropped a three-set match to Eisenhower Thursday night, 26-24, 25-15, 25-12.
Union City battled Eisenhower closely in the opening set before the Knights pulled out the 26-24 decision. Eisenhower then controlled the final two sets to complete the sweep.
Kimmy Zielinski led Union City with eight digs and three kills. Alivia Zielinski recorded 13 digs, while Danica Williamson added nine digs. Josie McQueen contributed seven digs for the Bears.
Eisenhower was led by A. Byrd, who finished with 11 kills and a .300 hitting percentage. A. Zimmerman added a block for the Knights.
The loss moves Union City to 1-5 on the season.
The Bears return home Tuesday, September 15, when they host Mercyhurst Prep, which alsoenters the contest at 1-5.
