
UNION CITY – The Union City Lady Bears finished second among six teams Monday while hosting the District 4 AA Mega Match.
Union City posted a team score of 325, finishing behind Fort LeBoeuf, which won the team competition with a 264. Seneca finished third at 354, followed by Conneaut at 362, Franklin at 420 and Rocky Grove at 449.
Emma Frank led the Bears with a 99. Allie Anderson followed with a 110, while Brooke Erickson shot 116. Kyleigh McGuire finished with a 138 and Maci Greeley carded a 145.
The team score of 325 was based on Union City’s three lowest rounds: Frank’s 99, Anderson’s 110 and Erickson’s 116.
The match was played under difficult conditions after heavy rainfall the night before, with the course playing particularly hard.
Before the match, Union City recognized seniors Emma Frank and Allie Anderson for their four years of commitment to the girls golf program.
Fort LeBoeuf’s winning score was led by Cassidy Conn, who shot a 75 and finished first individually. Laney Beers followed with a 91, while Erin DuShole carded a 98 and Aaliyah Cuba shot 100.
Seneca’s Kylie Bednar had the second-lowest individual score of the match with an 86. Nevaeh Nye shot 132, Cheyanne Brown finished at 143 and Kate Wisniewski recorded a 136.
The Bears will continue their season with district competition ahead.
