CANADOHTA LAKE — Canadohta Lake will celebrate Independence Day with a full schedule of family-friendly activities on Saturday, July 4, culminating with the community’s annual fireworks display over the lake.
The day’s events begin with the Canadohta Lake Area Business Association’s 11th Annual Firecracker 5K Walk/Run and 10K Run. Registration opens at 8 a.m. at the Canadohta Roller Rink, with the races beginning at 9 a.m. Proceeds from the event benefit CLABA’s annual Fourth of July fireworks display. At noon, decorated golf carts and pets will begin lining up at Elmwood Beach for the annual Golf Cart and Pet Parade. The parade steps off at 12:30 p.m., traveling down Lakeview Drive as part of the holiday celebration.
Also at noon, the Bloomfield Township Recreation Board will begin lining up participants for its annual Bike Parade at Elmwood Beach. Young riders are asked to arrive between noon and 12:15 p.m., with the parade getting underway at 12:30 p.m. The route concludes at the Frog Pond Pavilions, where participants can enjoy lunch, prize giveaways and raffle baskets.
Sunny 105.7, Canadohta Lake’s Greatest Hits, will be on hand near the Frog Pond during the parades with prize drawings.
The day’s festivities conclude with the annual Canadohta Lake fireworks display at approximately 10 p.m. over the lake. The show is funded through community donations and fundraising efforts coordinated by the Canadohta Lake Area Business Association. A rain date has been scheduled for Sunday, July 5.
Organizers encourage residents and visitors to arrive early and enjoy the variety of activities taking place throughout the day as the community celebrates Independence Day and America’s 250th anniversary.
