According to the Titusville Police Department, officers were dispatched to Community Connect Federal Credit Union shortly after midnight on Oct. 5, 2025, after receiving a report of a suspicious individual dressed in black and crouched near the ATM.

When officers arrived, the suspect had already fled the area on foot. Investigators discovered evidence that the ATM had been tampered with, and approximately $1,000 in cash had been left behind at the scene.

Police said the investigation determined that currency had been stolen over an extended period through a scheme known as “ATM jackpotting.” The method involves gaining unauthorized access to an ATM and installing software that alters the machine’s programming, allowing money to be withdrawn illegally.

Working with state and federal law enforcement partners, investigators used forensic technology and other investigative techniques to identify a suspect.

Authorities identified the suspect as Antoni Jesus Garcia-Cordoba, 42, of Raleigh, North Carolina. Pennsylvania State Police obtained an arrest warrant, and Garcia-Cordoba was later located and arrested in another state before being extradited to Union County, Pennsylvania, on Dec. 14, 2025.

Police said Garcia-Cordoba faced three felony counts of theft by unlawful taking related to ATM thefts across Pennsylvania. The Titusville incident was included as part of a broader investigation.

On April 13, 2026, Garcia-Cordoba entered a plea of nolo contendere, or no contest, to the three felony theft charges.

In announcing the resolution of the case, the Titusville Police Department credited the collaborative efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies in bringing the investigation to a close.
