The Pennsylvania Department of Health is inviting the public to provide feedback as it prepares the state’s 2027 plan for the Women, Infants and Children Program.
The department has scheduled three public comment sessions in May to allow residents to share suggestions and comments about the program. The sessions are part of the process required for developing the annual state plan that guides how the program operates in Pennsylvania.
Meetings will be held May 7 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, May 13 in Shamokin Dam, Pennsylvania, and May 20 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Each session is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Members of the public may attend in person, participate virtually through Microsoft Teams, or join by phone. Officials noted the sessions are intended solely for public comment and the department will not present material during the meetings.
People who cannot attend one of the sessions may submit written comments to the Department of Health’s Bureau of Women, Infants and Children. Comments must be received by May 31.
The WIC program provides nutrition assistance and support services to pregnant women, new mothers, infants and young children. The program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture.
To apply for the 2026-27 academic year, students must complete the Grow PA Scholarship Grant Application and submit it through PHEAA Account Access by selecting File Upload, then PA Special Programs, and Grow PA Scholarship Grant Application.
Applications for the 2025-26 award will be accepted until April 15, 2026. Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis according to the date a complete application is received.
