The Erie Otters bounced back in a big way Friday night, earning a 6–3 win in their lone trip to Sudbury this season. After falling behind early, Erie surged with a strong offensive push and steady goaltending to secure an important road victory.
Sudbury struck first with two quick goals from Artem Gonchar, but the Otters responded just as fast. Dylan Edwards scored twice in under two minutes to erase the deficit and send the game into the first intermission tied 2–2. Erie led 11–6 in shots after the opening period.
The Otters grabbed their first lead in the second when captain Gabriel Frasca scored on the power play, his 10th of the year. Goaltender Charlie Burns settled in after a hectic start, making several key saves to keep Erie ahead 3–2 through two periods.
Erie pulled away in the third. Frasca scored again to extend the lead, and after Sudbury cut the deficit to one, Michael Dec restored the two-goal cushion with his eighth of the season. A late misplay by the Wolves led to an own-goal, and Tristen Trevino added an empty-netter to close out the 6–3 win. Erie finished with a 37–27 edge in shots.
The Otters wrap up the road trip Sunday afternoon in Oshawa before returning home Friday, Nov. 21, to host Barrie on Children’s Grief Awareness Night.
