A local Erie County metal band is headed for the national spotlight. Eden On Fire, a female-fronted modern melodic metal group, has officially been selected to compete in the Wacken Metal Battle USA 2026 — a major competition that gives independent bands the chance to perform on the world’s biggest heavy metal stage at Wacken Open Air in Germany.

Each year, hundreds of metal bands from across the United States apply, but only a select few are chosen to move forward to live regional rounds. The winners from those rounds will earn the opportunity to represent the U.S. at Wacken Open Air 2026, performing for more than 85,000 fans alongside some of the genre’s most legendary acts.

“Being selected for the Wacken Battle is an honor beyond words,” said Amy Gould, lead vocalist of Eden On Fire. “Just to be recognized among the nation’s rising metal acts is incredible. We plan to bring everything we’ve got to that stage.”

The national competition begins in February 2026, with details on venues and performance dates to be announced.

Eden On Fire has been making a name for themselves with their debut album Unresolved, which has earned praise for its powerhouse vocals, sharp guitar work, and modern melodic metal sound. Their growing reputation has also led to recent interviews and features in FemMetal, All Music Magazine, and Radioactive Metal.

For the Erie County-based band, being selected for Wacken Metal Battle USA marks a major step from local stages to the global metal scene.
