A Sugar Grove man is facing serious charges after allegedly assaulting a 10-year-old girl in Youngsville earlier this month.
Ronald K. McKendree, 37, was charged Wednesday by Youngsville police with two counts of felony corruption of minors and two counts of indecent assault of a child under 13, according to a Times Observer report. The charges stem from alleged incidents that occurred at the victim’s home and in a vehicle, according to court records.
Police began investigating after the child’s mother reported the allegations on Sunday. A forensic interview was conducted Tuesday at the Warren County Children’s Advocacy Center, where the girl described the inappropriate contact.
McKendree reportedly admitted during a police interview that he had touched the girl inappropriately on two occasions.
He was arraigned Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Todd Woodin and taken to the Warren County Jail after bail was set at $50,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 30.
