A Corry man is facing multiple charges after allegedly stealing a motorcycle from a secured garage earlier this week.
According to the Corry City Police Department, officers were dispatched around 2:53 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, to a reported theft at 221 Mott Street. The victim, Christopher Johnson, 56, of Columbus, reported the theft of a 1995 Honda CBR 900RR sport motorcycle.
The suspect, identified as Donald Schmoke III, 35, of Corry, was reportedly caught on video riding the stolen motorcycle on several streets throughout the city. Police determined that Schmoke had unlawfully entered a secured storage garage at the Mott Street address to access the vehicle.
Later that evening, Schmoke was located and taken into custody near Seminole Avenue with the assistance of K9 Officer Miso.
He was arraigned on multiple charges, including felony burglary, felony theft by unlawful taking, and summary driving while suspended. Schmoke was committed to the Erie County Prison and will face a preliminary hearing at a later date before District Judge Denise Buell.
