At its regular meeting on June 9, 2025, the Corry Area School Board approved a range of facility improvements, personnel actions, and service agreements as the district prepares for the 2025-26 school year.
Among the key approvals was the purchase of a water heat exchanger from Scobell Company Inc. for $17,560, which will be paid from the construction fund. The board also approved two change orders from O Cross Paving, LLC., totaling over $46,000 for parking lot paving at the Middle-High School and Primary School.
Long-term HVAC maintenance contracts were approved with Stark Tech, covering the Middle-High School, Primary School, and Intermediate School from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2030.
The board agreed to continue its partnership with LECOM Erie Dental Training Site to provide dental exams for students during the upcoming school year. Additionally, a lease agreement was approved with Barber National Institute to use classroom space at Corry Area Primary School for the 2025-26 year.
Personnel actions included several resignations and staffing changes:
- Jennifer Wellington, Secondary ELA Teacher, resigned effective June 7.
- Alyssa Britten, Elementary Drama Director, resigned effective for the 2025/26 school year.
- Summer DeMarco was granted a leave of absence from September 22, 2025, through February 5, 2026.
- Ashley Vella, Assistant High School Principal, will move to a 12-month contract starting July 1 at a salary of $86,000.
- Lonny Moore was appointed School Security Guard from August 27, 2025, to June 4, 2026.
- Michael Cherry was appointed School Police Officer for the same dates.
