A woman from Sherman, NY, has been taken into custody following an investigation regarding a barn fire that took place on Sunday night in the Town of Sherman. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene of the fire at 8049 Bailey Hill Road just before 10:45 PM. The county’s Fire Investigation Team concluded that 21-year-old Susan Hostetler allegedly set the fire intentionally after a dispute. Hostetler was apprehended shortly afterward and charged with 3rd-degree arson and 2nd-degree criminal mischief. She has been taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for a centralized arraignment and is scheduled to appear in Sherman Town Court at a later date.
