Fire Crews Battle Attic Fire in Corry

A fire broke out Friday morning in the attic at a duplex located at 232 Wright Street in Corry. Fire Chief Ryan Card said smoke was showing from the top of the structure when Corry firefighters arrived at the location around 8:30 a.m. Upon entry crews found heavy flames in the attic of the structure. The cause was believed to be an electrical problem.

No one was home at the time of the fire. Five pets made it out safely. Corry firefighters were assisted by Wrightsville, Clymer, Union City, Spring Creek and Spartansburg Fire Departments.
