The Union City Lady Bears Basketball team was back in the Bears Den on Thursday night as they took on the visiting Youngsville Eagles in a region game. It was all Union City from the very start as they would start off the game with a 16-0 lead and never looked back, as they took down the Eagles 68-15 to earn their second straight win as they improve to 4-9 (2-2) on the season, while the Eagles fall to 4-8 (0-4). The Lady Bears will be back in action Tuesday night as they host the Girard Yellowjackets in a non-region game.

“Very proud of all the girls tonight for the effort they put forth. We talked before the game about bring maximum effort and intensity every game, regardless of who we’re going up against.” Coach Matt Moon stated after the game. “It was great to get off to another good start and it seemed like we couldn’t miss in the first half. That’s what we’re capable of and it was great to see. All 12 players scored tonight which was awesome. Great energy from start to finish. Girard comes in next Tuesday and we’ll look to build on the momentum from this week. One game at a time.”
