Taxes will be going up for Union City property owners next year. At the November 20th meeting, Borough Council passed a motion to approve the 2024 budget and a tax ordinance with a one-mill tax increase. All council members present voted in favor of the motion.  Council members Tracy Daggett and Reilly Cross were absent from the meeting.  The increase means a property assessed at $100,000 will see a $100 increase in taxes.

Council also approved a Mutual Aid agreement with the Conelway Regional Emergency Management Agency (CREMA) which the borough agreed to hire earlier this year. The organization assists municipalities in the local area with developing and implementing their  emergency plans, which are required by state law.
