Trick or Treat Set for October 31 in Union City

Trick or treat in Union City Borough will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct.
That is the date Union City Borough Council set during the meeting on Sept. 12.

Council will no longer meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month.
During the meeting, council voted to change its meeting dates to the first and
third Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. This is due to a council member who will
not be available on Tuesdays from September through April. Council’s next
meeting will be Oct. 2.

Council also approved several motions ranging from approving the minimum
municipal obligations, which is money paid unto the pension fund for
nonuniformed and uniformed employees to fencing required at 77 S. Main St.,
around retention ponds.

A multi-municipal grant application for a Keystone Communities Grant and
accompanying memorandum of understanding were approved. The grant
application includes municipalities along Route 6 from Corry to Albion for a plan
to study the highest and best use of anchor, historic and strategic buildings for
Union City and other components for the other municipalities.
