The City of Corry is working on a comprehensive study called “Plan Corry.” Council members were briefed on a survey of city owned property at Tuesday’s planning meeting. 50 parcels are considered to be underutilized and underdeveloped. They include parking lots where houses and buildings were located at one time. Also, a multiple acre property near Ave “A” that was the city dump years ago. The City of Corry also owns 14 buildings including the City Administration Building/Police and Fire Complex located on South Street.
The survey indicated most of the city owned structures are showing age but remain operational. However, the city sewer plant will have to be replaced soon. The costs will be high along with significant rate increases for customers.
