The Union City Lady Bears opened their home schedule on Tuesday night in a rematch against the Seneca Bobcats hoping to avenge their 37-31 loss in Meadville. In what was a close back and forth game in the first half, the Bears would pull away in the second half earning a 46-39 win improving to 2-1 on the season. “We earned a great win tonight at home. The girls battled and played solid defense.” Coach Moon told us in a statement after the game. “We wanted to get out into transition, and they did a great job of pushing the ball up the floor. The loss to them Saturday stung and the girls were determined to bounce back, and they did just that. We’ve still got a lot of work to do and it’s nice to not play again until Monday so we can iron out some details. It’s great to start the year 2-1 and have some momentum rolling into next week.”
