The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is taking Raccoon Refuse to court. The D-E-P ordered the Spartansburg firm to clean up its transfer station last week.
It didn’t.
The D-E-P filed a petition Monday with Crawford County Court to deal with the problem. Raccoon Refuse has notified customers that it was no longer in business. Residents in Spartansburg had complained about a mountain of trash piled up at the company facility.
