The Union City Bears baseball team was back on the diamond on Thursday afternoon as they played host to the Cambridge Springs Blue Devils in a non-region game.
It was an early pitchers duel as the Devils would score a run in the top of the first to take a 1-0 lead and the next run of the game wouldn’t come until the sixth inning as the Bears would score four to go up 4-1.
The Devils would add a run in the seventh but it wasn’t enough as the Bears would shut down the Devils to win the game 4-2. The win improves the Bears to 1-1 on the season while the Devils fall to 0-2.
The Bears will return to action on Monday afternoon as they host Erie High in another non-region game.
