R.L. McCray, a longtime sports reporter and columnist for The Corry Journal and other regional publications, has passed away.

McCray began his journalism career in 1973. He became a familiar presence at local sporting events, known for his detailed coverage and passion for telling athletes’ stories. A Corry native, McCray earned a degree in journalism and mass communications from Point Park College.
McCray was also well known for his “Home Again” column where he sent out birthday wishes and reported on happenings around town. McCray was 74.
