The Union City Bears Boys Basketball team was back in action on Friday night in the Bears Den as they played host to the Erie Prep Academy Yeti’s in their region opener.
The Bears would get off to a quick start, taking a 5-0 lead to begin the game. The Bears would lead after one quarter of play 13-5.
The Bears would continue their dominance in the second quarter as they would outscore the Yeti’s 18-8 to go into halftime with a 31-13 lead.
The Bears would go on to win the game 61-39 to improve to 6-7 (1-0) on the season, while the Yeti’s fall to 3-3 (0-2).
The Bears will be back in action on Tuesday night as they host the Eisenhower Knights in another region game.
