The Union City Bears baseball team was back in action on Monday afternoon, traveling to Allegheny College to take on the Youngsville Eagles in a District 10 1A Quarterfinal game. The Bears would strike first in the first inning, as Miles McCaslin would reach on a double and later score, as Trevin Capela would drive him in with a double to give the Bears an early lead. The Eagles would tie the game in the bottom of the first, as Keegan Mesel would hit a two-out RBI single to tie the game at one after the first inning. Fast forward to the fourth inning still tied at one, Matt DeSimone would give the Eagles a 2-1 lead after hitting a sac fly. The Eagles would break the game open in the fifth scoring four runs, after singles from Wyatt Dalrymple, Talon Mesel and Matt DeSimone, to give the Eagles a 6-1 lead through five innings. The Bears would score their second and final run of the game in the sixth, as Daithin Kent would drive in Quinlan Magee. The Eagles would end any chance the Bears would have in the bottom of the sixth scoring six runs, as the Eagles would take down the Bears 12-2, as the Bears finish the season with a 6-13 (5-11) record.
