Corry Council Approves Hires and Appointments

Corry City Council met Monday night and approved the purchase of a new Ford police cruiser at a price of $40,000.  Several appointments and hires were approved:  Thomas Blair will be the new MPO voting delegate, Gretchen Douglas the new police clerk and Phil Conklin Jr. was hired as Code enforcement officer.  Controversary surrounding the newly formed airport authority resumed with several members of the public questioning the transparency of the arrangement between the city and the authority.  Council voted to acknowledge that Brock Allen and Tim Thompson have met the requirements to be authority members and also appointed Tina Freeman to the authority.  When asked council member Kristen Lindstrom stated she was abstaining from voting on airport matters saying there are too many unanswered questions and prefers to wait for the city’s scheduled meeting with Knox Law Firm.
