Lady Bears Fall in Tough Game to Bison

Written By Cody Rose

The Union City Bears softball team was back on the field on Saturday afternoon taking on the undefeated Fort Leboeuf Bison in a huge rematch. The Bison bats were hot throughout, as they would have thirteen hits in the contest, including a home run by Londyn Davis, allowing Fort Leboeuf to take a 9-0 lead into the fifth, before Emylee Zielinski would drive in the Lady Bears first run. Alissa Leech would drive in the Lady Bears only other run in the seventh, but that would be all Union City could muster up, as they would fall to the Bison 10-2, dropping the Bears to 7-6 (5-5) on the season. The Lady Bears will be back on Monday, as they travel to Harborcreek to take on the Huskies in another region game.
