Union City’s French Creek Trail Project at Devereaux Park will be facing some cutbacks. The $91,000 matching grant received from the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources will be reduced to match the ECRA grant received in the amount of $50,000 since no other grants can be approved to make up for the shortfall by the June 1 deadline. Officials had applied for additional matching funds through the Department of Community and Economic Development but that application was not approved. The proposed gazebo and some other items are expected to be removed from the plan.
