Eagles Hold Off Bears Strong Effort

Written By Cody Rose

The Union City Bears baseball team took the field on Wednesday afternoon, taking on the undefeated Youngsville Eagles in a region game. The Bears started the game hot, as they would have their bats going, taking a 3-1 lead in the top of the first. The Bears would hold the lead until the fifth, where the Eagles would put up four runs. In the bottom of the seventh, down by four, the Bears would start coming back scoring two runs, that would be all they would manage to score however, as the Bears would strand two on base, and the Eagles would hold off the Bears to win 7-5. With the loss, the Bears drop their fourth straight game, falling to 1-4 (0-4) on the season. The Bears will be back in action Friday afternoon at Iroquois.
