The Union City Lady Bears were back on the softball field on Tuesday afternoon taking on the Harborcreek Huskies in a region game. The Huskies would strike early, batting around in the top half of the first, scoring five runs, on four hits and a couple costly errors by the Bears, forcing starting pitcher Alyssa Tingley out of the game, after only one inning. Kaegann Gregor would then come in to pitch for the Bears, as she would give up only one run in the second, following that up with two shutout innings. The Huskies however would break the game open in the fifth, scoring six runs, including a three-run home run, while batting around. The Bears would get their first hit of the game in the bottom half of the fifth, as Emylee Zielinski would hit a single, after Grace Chapman reached on an error, neither runner would score however, as the Bears left two stranded on base. The Lady Bears would fall to the Huskies 12-0, as they drop to 3-1 (1-1) on the season, while the Huskies improve to 3-2 (2-0). The Lady Bears will look to get back in the win column, as they travel to Fort Leboeuf on Thursday, for another region game.
