Council Approves Bids for City Building

Bids for phase one of the city building improvement project were approved by Union City Borough Council at a recent meeting. Bids from Construction Services and Hyer Electric were awarded for the work which includes installing an ADA compliant ramp, brick work, painting and bathroom upgrades. The total project price tag is $132,000 and is being funded entirely with grant money.


In other business council approved a motion that gives National Fuel gas a right of way through borough municipal parking lots 1 and 2 to in order to move gas meters to the back side of certain properties on N Main St. Also approved was an agreement with Zito Business to change the borough’s phone service from analogue to a hosted voice service.
