A section of the new sidewalk at Caflisch Park in Union City is in danger of caving soon if preventative action is not taken. An area of Bentley Run has been eroding the bank and is now approximately two feet from reaching the sidewalk. Borough manager Cindy Wells reported to council Tuesday that an emergency permit for temporary repairs can be obtained to keep the bank from eroding further using interlocking mafia blocks. Final restoration of the bank could possibly be rolled into the upcoming bridge work project at the park but with two separate RFP’s. Quotes for the work are being researched and will be presented at a future meeting.
