State Police have charged 48 year-old  George Moyer of Columbus with multiple counts. The charges include Aggravated Assault, Harassment and Resisting arrest. The incident took place Saturday at a Market Street address in Columbus where police were sent to investigate a disturbance. Police say Moyer was allegedly agitated and grabbed the trooper by the throat. The officer was able to subdue Moyer and put him in handcuffs. Moyer was arraigned Sunday before a District Justice and taken to Warren County jail after failing to post $50,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 29th.
