Finger Pointing at Corry Council; Police Officers Hired

The Corry Airport, Mead Park and new hires at the police department were among the topics covered at Corry City Council Monday night. A blame-game erupted during a public hearing at the top of the meeting. Several members of council expressed dissatisfaction with the law firm that worked on the new airport authority on behalf of the City. All but one of  the newly appointed airport authority members had to resign because they were not residents of the city as required by state law. Several council members expressed the need for new representation, but no decision was made last night.
Later in the meeting, Council unanimously approved the appointment of Logan Hunt to the Airport Authority Board.
Council also voted to hire two new police officers: Jonathon Harvey and Alyssa Turner.
Paving and Tar and Chip street work was also approved and a Mead Park $1,750 dollar water bill and penalty were forgiven.
