A jury convicted a Townville man of first degree murder Thursday. According to GoErie.com 53 year-old Jeffrey D. Briggs was found guilty of shooting John P. Robinson of Union Township five times as Robinson worked on a vehicle on January 26, 2021 in a dispute over a female. In his defense Briggs claimed that he was the victim of a setup in which the gun used in Robinson’s killing was stolen from Briggs’ car. Jurors deliberated for 7 hours before returning the verdict. Sentencing is set for May 3.
