Bears Run Away from Tigers as Drayer Sets Record

The Union City Bears were back in the Bears Den for their final game of the season as they hosted the Maplewood Tigers in a region game. The Bears would pull away from the Tigers as Bryce Drayer led the way with 33 points, as the Bears defeat the Tigers 72-39 ending the season with a 9-13 (5-7) record. Bryce Drayer would also set a record in his final game, draining eight three’s, passing the previous record of seven.

“What a great senior night! All our seniors scored and had nice games!” Coach Shawn Thompson stated following the game. “Bryce Drayer broke the union city single game record for 3s made with 8…the last being from way behind the line! Just an awesome game all around and a great way to end. Hopefully, this will be a springboard for the younger guys for next season!”
