The Union City Bears traveled to Cambridge Springs High School to take on the rival Blue Devils in a big region game as the season begins to wind down. The Devils were able to use their athleticism to roll past the Bears 71-52, as the Bears fall to 7-12 (3-6) on the season. The boys will be back in action Tuesday night, taking on the Eisenhower Knights in the Bears Den. “Our goal coming in was to press them a bit and try to keep them off the glass with a zone.” Coach Shawn Thompson stated following the game. “We did a nice job early on, but their length and athleticism won out eventually. I’m very happy with how the boys played. We gave up several inches at every position but kept digging in to keep it close. We are playing good basketball right now. Three games left, we just have to keep pushing, build off this effort and hope things fall our way for a playoff berth.”
