Garrity Leads Tigers Past Bears

Written by Cody Rose

The Union City Lady Bears were back in the Bears Den Friday night taking on the Fairview Tigers in a non-region game.

Fairview’s Hope Garrity drives past Union City’s Ellie Hunter for a score early in the first quarter.

It was all Fairview from start to finish as Hope Garrity who finished with a game high 20 points would lead the Tigers to a 50-14 win over the Lady Bears as they fall to 6-8 (2-3) on the season. The girls will be back in action Saturday afternoon as they travel to Reynolds in a doubleheader with the boys. “Second loss to Fairview this season. They’re a quality and very disciplined team and whether the girls see it or not they get something out of playing a quality team like that.” Coach Matt Moon remarked. “They outplayed us from the jump tonight, but we’ll regroup and play our third game in three days tomorrow as we head to Reynolds.” Fairview won the JV game 25-17.
