A Union City resident, 69 year old Lawrence Deluco, was killed when his car crashed after it hit a dead deer on Tuesday. State police at Franklin say Deluco was traveling north on Rt. 8 in Victory Township in Venango County around 3:50 AM when the accident happened. After striking the deer the vehicle traveled off the roadway striking a guide rail. Deluco was pronounced dead at the scene by the Venango County coroner.

The Erie County Coroner reports 9 year-old George Socie of Erie was pronounced dead on arrival at Hamot Hospital Thursday morning. The boy was a passenger in a car involved in a two car crash at West 12th and Pittsburgh Avenue.
