Monday’s regular meeting started off with a public hearing where one citizen expressed concern about the new trash and recycling totes. Rex Messinger wanted to know how senior citizens and handicapped individuals would be able to get small amounts of trash and recyclables in the 65 gallon totes to the curb. Residents are required to begin using the new totes this week for garbage pickup. In other action, Council approved payment for the totes plus partial payment for a new fire truck. Council also approved a series of resolutions for Community Block Grants that include sewer separation, code enforcement and administration.
Council passed resolutions pertaining to the Community Development Block Grants. The city intends to spend three-hundred thousand dollars for sewer separation, forty-thousand for partial salary for a code enforcement officer and twenty thousand for grant administration..
