Raccoon Refuse Still Has Work To Do

Defunct Raccoon Refuse has some work to do.
The Meadville Tribune reports the Mill Village based company has until September 29th to clean up the Spartansburg Transfer site. Raccoon’s owner, Ernest Sell, apologized during a court hearing in Meadville. Sell explained that his firm was impacted by high fuel costs and equipment breakdown’s. Sell says he is attempting to sell the company. He also reports he has been sick, can not afford an attorney and has not filed for bankruptcy. The Department of Environmental Protection obtained a court to get the site cleaned up. DEP inspectors report initial attempts to clean up the transfer station were insufficient. Raccoon could face substantial new costs if that doesn’t happen by the September 29th deadline.
